Description
This is a RARE 1881 $3 GOLD, PCGS AU-50 CAC, OGH & VERY PQ-LOOKS AU-55; LOWEST MINTAGE $3! The 1881 is notable in that it has the lowest official mintage of any three dollar gold piece regularly issued for circulation. Survival rates are correspondingly very low, and mint state examples are very rare. This date seldom appears on the open market, and almost all specimens need to be sought out through the auction venue. Here is a rare exception to buy a conservatively graded piece that was encapsulated approximately 35 years ago. Fresh, wholesome and original in all regards, it is also is CAC approved, and has the all-important “Green Bean” affixed. Don’t sleep on this one, as it may be a long time before you see another offered! Our commitment is to provide you with quality coins and collectibles at the best possible prices. This piece is no exception. Please note, the coin and collectibles markets do fluctuate, and prices occasionally will change. In this rare circumstance, we will contact you first to verify your order.
