The 1895-O Morgan Dollar is the third rarest date of the series in mint state condition, exceeded only by the 1892-S and 1893-S. When encountered in uncirculated grades, the 1895-O can also be one of the ugliest of all Morgan Dollars, often exhibiting a soft strike and indifferent luster. In that regard, this lustrous, well-struck example is certainly atypical. In our 35 years in business, and for the assigned MS-62 grade, this is one of the most attractive 1895-O Morgan Dollars that we can remember handling. With some searching, you may locate a mint state 1895-O Morgan Dollar for less money, but you would be hard-pressed to find a more attractive example shy of $50,000.
