This is a RARE 1859 PATTERN 50c, J-245, SILVER, RIGHT-FACING LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR, PCGS PR-64, EAGLE REVERSE! 1859 WAS A YEAR THAT OPENED UP THE FLOODGATES FOR PATTERN COINAGE. THE MANY DIFFERENT PROPOSED DESIGNS WERE DOMINATED BY THE LIBERTY HEAD PLATFORM. A FRENCH HEAD OF LIBERTY FACING RIGHT WAS THE CORNERSTONE OF THE DESIGN, WITH MULTIPLE DIFFERENT REVERSES. MOST FEATURED A WREATH ALONG WITH THE DENOMINATION INSIDE OF THE WREATH. J-245 HOWEVER IS AN EXCEPTION FEATURING INSTEAD AN EAGLE FACING LEFT WITH A SHIELD AND A RIBBON IN IT’S BEAK.
