Description
This is a 1827 CORONET HEAD LARGE CENT – CACG MS-62 RB, RARE & UNHEARD OF WITH ANY RED! POP 1!! VIRTUALLY UNOBTAINABLE IN RB! The Large Cent collector realizes how scarce the Large Cents of the 1820s are in Mint State, other than the 1820 dated coins from the Randall Hoard. Even further, these coins virtually don’t exist with remaining red luster on the surfaces. RB and RD specimens are virtually unobtainable. The 1827 Large Cents are generally very scarce in AU and Brown UNC, but we were given the opportunity to purchase this CACG MS-62 RB specimen that we just couldn’t pass on. Conservatively graded MS-62 by CACG, this piece has choice Mint State surfaces and lots of remaining Red mint luster (more vivid and more red than the images show). The CACG population is just one in this grade (the present coin), and two in MS-64 for a total MS CAC population of only 3 coins. In fact, PCGS & NGC have combined to grade just 8 Red-Brown examples in ALL mint state grades (which could be overstated by multiple records for a single coin). The only auction record is a lone PCGS MS-64 RB CAC that sold for nearly $8,000 8 years ago. Looking at those images, we feel this coin compares very favorably. An undoubtedly rare coin in many ways; don’t miss out! Our commitment is to provide you with quality coins and collectibles at the best possible prices. This piece is no exception. Please note, the coin and collectibles markets do fluctuate, and prices occasionally will change. In this rare circumstance, we will contact you first to verify your order.
